Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-27 · Effective September 27, 2026
The short version
- These Terms are an agreement between you and Santiago Domenech-Mejia, a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada, doing business as Pantry Tracker App.
- You must be at least 13 to use the App, and you need a parent's permission if you are under the age of majority where you live.
- You own the content you create. You give us permission to store and process it so the App works, and you control what you share with others. Content you share with others, and your product-catalog contributions, stay available after you delete your account.
- Paid plans are sold through Google Play and renew automatically until you cancel.
- AI results and the nutrition and fitness features are for information only and are not medical or professional advice.
- The AI features are for your own food, pantry, recipe, and schedule data. Using them for unrelated work, or trying to change how they behave, can cost you access to them.
- The App is provided "as is", and our liability is capped at the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or CAD $50.
- These Terms are governed by British Columbia law, which does not remove consumer rights you have by law.
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Santiago Domenech-Mejia, an individual operating as a sole proprietorship registered in British Columbia, Canada under the business name "Pantry Tracker App" (registration number FM1114931), referred to here as "we", "us", and "our". They govern your use of the Pantry Tracker Android app ("the App") and our website at pantrytrackerapp.com ("the Website"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. The service
The App helps you manage a pantry, track nutrition, log workouts, and organize recipes, with optional social, sharing, household, and community features. We provide it as is and may add, change, suspend, or stop features at any time. We aim for high reliability but do not promise the App will always be available or error-free, and we may take it down for maintenance.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age of digital consent where you live. If you are under the age of majority, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you confirm you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.
4. Your account
- Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Give accurate account information and keep it current.
- One person per account. Do not share your credentials.
- Tell us at support@pantrytrackerapp.com if you think someone else is using your account.
- Your names. Your username is your permanent login handle and cannot be changed. Your display name is the name other users see. Changing your display name is a Pro feature: on the Pro plan you can change it at any time, and on other plans it stays as you chose it unless you ask us, by emailing support@pantrytrackerapp.com, to allow a change or to change it for you. Display names must meet the standards in Section 10, and we may replace one that does not.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and renewals
- The App has a free, ad-supported tier and paid Basic and Pro tiers that unlock more features and higher limits.
- Paid plans are sold and billed through Google Play. Google's terms, payment processing, and refund policy apply, and we do not process or store your card details.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date in the Google Play Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its policies. We usually cannot issue refunds directly.
- Price changes apply to future billing periods. We give notice as Google Play and the law require; continued use after a change means you accept it.
- Downgrades. If your plan ends or is downgraded, you keep the content you already created, but some features and higher limits may become unavailable.
- We verify plans on our servers. Trying to unlock paid features without a valid purchase breaks these Terms.
- Complimentary and lifetime upgrades. We may, at our discretion, give an account a complimentary Basic or Pro plan, for a limited time or for life. It is a courtesy, not a purchase: it has no cash value, belongs to that account only, cannot be transferred, and we can revoke it if you break these Terms. If you also buy a plan, you get the higher of the two while your purchase is active, and the complimentary plan continues after the purchase ends.
6. License to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not sublicense, resell, or offer the App to others as a service.
7. Your content and ownership
- You keep ownership of the content you create in the App, such as recipes, logged data, photos, and notes ("Your Content").
- You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, and process Your Content only to run and provide the App to you. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content covered by Sections 8 and 9 and for backup copies, which we keep for up to 30 days.
- When you use a sharing feature, you also give us and other users the rights described in Section 8 for the content you choose to share, and when you contribute to the product catalog, the rights described in Section 9.
- You are responsible for Your Content, and you confirm you have the rights to it and that it does not break the law, these Terms, or anyone else's rights.
8. Sharing and community features
Some features make content visible to others, and you choose whether and what to share. Section 7 of our Privacy Policy describes exactly what each feature discloses.
- Profiles and following. Using social features shows your username, display name, and public social ID so others can find and follow you.
- Public sharing. When you share a recipe, exercise, routine, or cookbook listing publicly, other users can view and import a copy, and logged reps and weights are removed from shared routines first. You give them a license to view, import, and use it. While you have an account, you can stop sharing or delete it at any time, though copies others already imported stay with them.
- Private sharing. You may instead share content only with specific people you name, visible only to you and them. It stays available to them if you delete your account.
- Ratings and comments. You may rate and briefly comment on shared content. Keep it honest, relevant, and free of personal information. Ratings and comments must meet the standards in Section 10.
- Households and shared pantry. You may invite others to a household and pool pantry items. Members can see each other's usernames, display names, social IDs, and pooled items and quantities, and a member's action on a pooled item changes the shared quantity for all. Pool only what you are comfortable sharing; you may leave at any time and keep your own pantry data. If you delete your account, you leave the household and the items you pooled leave with you; the household's shared quantity history stays with the other members, shown as coming from a deleted user. If you own the household and leave it or delete your account, the household continues and ownership passes to the remaining member on the highest plan (Pro, then Basic, then Free), the one who joined earliest among equals; it closes only when no other member is left, and every member keeps their own pantry data. A household needs at least one member whose plan includes households; when no such member is left, it keeps working for 30 days and then closes, and every member keeps their own pantry data.
- Territory. Territory is optional, off by default, and available on the Pro tier. If you turn it on and claim an area by running, a simplified outline of that area, its size, and a short display name you choose (reviewed by our moderators) can appear on a shared map and leaderboard. Your detailed GPS routes are not shown to others.
- Updated routines. If you import another user's shared routine, you may later be offered updated versions. Accepting adds a new copy and never deletes your existing one.
License for content you share. When you share content publicly or with other people, including routines, exercises (with any photos and videos in them), recipes, cookbook listings, and messages you send to a coach or client, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to host, store, copy, display, and distribute that content to the other users you shared it with, or to all users if you shared it publicly, and to make the technical changes needed to do so, such as resizing or converting images and videos. This license survives the deletion of your account: after you delete your account, content you shared stays available to those users, shown as coming from a deleted user. You keep ownership of your content. By sharing content, you confirm that you own it or have all the rights and permissions needed to share it this way, including permission from anyone who appears in a photo or video. If you do not want something to stay available after you leave, stop sharing it or delete it before you delete your account.
Copies others imported, and takedown requests. People who imported a copy of content you shared keep their copy, even if you later stop sharing it or delete your account. If shared content shows you, for example your face in a video, or you want a specific shared item taken down for another good reason, email support@pantrytrackerapp.com and tell us which item it is. We can trace every copy of shared content back to the person who uploaded it, including copies other users imported, and we will review your request and act on it, including by removing those copies where appropriate.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, safety, or legality of content shared by other users. That content comes from them, not from us, and you use it at your own risk.
9. Product catalog contributions
When you add a product by hand, by typing its details or photographing it, or submit a correction to a product's details or nutrition, the product's identifying facts (name, brand, barcode, package size, nutrition, and your photo if you took one) may go to a moderated review queue and, if approved, join a shared product catalog available to all users. This covers product facts only; your quantities, pantry contents, logs, location, and other personal data are never included. By contributing, you give us a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, publish, and distribute those product facts and images as part of the catalog, which builds on Open Food Facts and is offered for download under the Open Database License (ODbL). This license survives the deletion of your account: your contributions stay, de-identified, with no link to you. This includes a submission, with its photo, that is still waiting for review when you delete your account; it may still be approved. A submission we rejected is deleted with your account, together with its photo. Photograph only the product and its label, and do not include people, faces, or other personal information in product photos. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post or share content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that violates others' privacy or intellectual-property rights.
- Harass, abuse, impersonate, or deceive others, or send spam or unwanted promotions.
- Upload malware, or try to hack, overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App, its API, other accounts, or our systems.
- Reverse-engineer or decompile the App, except where the law does not allow this restriction.
- Get around subscription gates, rate limits, moderation, ad requirements, or other limits, or use tampered clients.
- Create multiple or automated accounts to abuse free-tier limits or dodge enforcement.
- Scrape, crawl, or access the API beyond normal use of the App.
- Submit false product data, manipulate ratings, or misuse community and messaging features.
11. Moderation and enforcement
Content submitted for public sharing may be reviewed before it appears, and we may approve, reject, remove, or refuse to publish it at our discretion, including content that breaks these Terms. If we reject content, we may tell you the reason, and your private copy stays usable. We may also warn, limit, suspend, or end accounts that break these Terms, and we may monitor content but are not required to.
12. Copyright and takedown
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@pantrytrackerapp.com with enough detail to identify the content and your rights, and we will review it and, where appropriate, remove it. We may end the accounts of repeat infringers.
13. Our intellectual property
The App itself, including its software, design, logos, trademarks, and the content we provide, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Except for the license we give you in these Terms, we keep all rights. Do not use our names, logos, or branding without our written permission.
14. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services, including Google Play, AdMob, Firebase, our AI providers, email delivery, map tiles, and hosting and security providers, each subject to its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, and changes to them may affect the App.
15. AI features and no professional advice
- AI-generated content, including nutrition estimates, product identification, recipe suggestions, transcriptions, and coaching, is for information only and may contain errors.
- It is not medical, nutritional, dietary, fitness, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Verify important nutrition and health information yourself.
- You are responsible for decisions you make based on the App, and you use exercise, diet, and nutrition features at your own risk. Talk to a physician before starting any exercise or diet program.
16. Acceptable use of AI features
Several parts of the App send what you give us to an outside AI provider, and we pay for each request: voice logging of food and pantry notes, importing a recipe from a video or audio transcript, reading nutrition labels, recognizing items in a photo, and importing a schedule or routine. These features are there to work on your data, and we ask you to keep them to that.
- What they are for. The AI features exist solely to process your own food, pantry, recipe, nutrition, and schedule information inside the App and to return a result you use in the App.
- What is not allowed. Do not use an AI feature to get the AI to do work unrelated to the App, such as writing essays or code, translating documents, or answering general questions. Do not submit text, audio, or images containing instructions meant to override, bypass, or change how our AI features behave, sometimes called prompt injection or jailbreaking. Do not send requests automatically or by script, resell or relay your access to anyone else, or deliberately submit content designed to make a request cost more to process.
- Logging and review. We record which AI features you use and how often, and we keep a limited sample of AI inputs and outputs so we can look into suspected abuse and check the quality of results. A person may review that sample. We do not use it to train our own AI models, and we delete it within 90 days. Section 5 of our Privacy Policy covers this.
- If you break these rules. We respond in steps. First we warn you. If it continues, we may rate-limit or switch off AI features for your account. For repeated or serious abuse, we may end your account under Section 22. If you think we got it wrong, email support@pantrytrackerapp.com and we will look at it again.
- Fair-use limits. AI features have usage limits that depend on your plan and on the feature, counted per day, per week, or per month. We may change these limits, or add short-term rate limits, as our costs and capacity change, and changes apply going forward.
None of this stops you from using the AI features normally, and often, for your own tracking. This section is aimed at deliberate misuse, not at ordinary use or an occasional mistake.
17. Health and fitness disclaimer
The App is a tracking and organizing tool, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Exercise carries inherent risks. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any injury, health outcome, or loss that results from your use of exercise, nutrition, or dietary features.
18. Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you give us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or any obligation to you.
19. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any data, including AI output and content from other users, will be accurate or reliable.
20. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we and our suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or health outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including decisions based on data or AI output in the App or on content shared by other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or CAD $50. Some places do not allow certain limits, so some of the above may not apply to you.
21. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the App, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
22. Termination and deletion
- You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time in Settings or at pantrytrackerapp.com/delete-account.
- We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice, if you break these Terms or if needed to protect the service or other users.
- When you delete your account, your personal information is deleted as described in Section 10 of our Privacy Policy: it is taken out of the live service immediately, and the copies in our backups are gone for good within 30 days. Content you shared with others and your product-catalog contributions stay available under the licenses in Sections 8 and 9. Sections that by their nature should survive, including ownership, those licenses, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law, continue to apply.
23. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If a dispute arises, you and we agree to first try to resolve it informally. If that does not work, it is subject to the courts of British Columbia, except where the law lets you bring proceedings in your local courts. There is no mandatory arbitration, and nothing in these Terms removes any rights you have under the consumer-protection laws where you live.
24. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When a change is material, we will show an in-app notice, and email you where we have your address, before it takes effect, and we will update the version and date at the top. The version you accept at signup is recorded with a timestamp. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
25. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the App. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
